Volunteering with operation liberty hill

I was reminded on Tuesday, what a plentiful life I live, that most of us reading this blog live! I came home from my volunteer shift at the Operation Liberty Hill food pantry beaming with gratitude for the hands and hearts hard at work in Williamson County.

I had the pleasure of spending my day with faith filled ladies, that reminded me of the goodness that exists all around us in our world!

Long time volunteers turned employees of Operation Liberty Hill, Julie, Stephanie and Jill, welcomed me in, and allowed me to help distribute food to 100 people during my 2 hour shift. The team expected to see about 70 more families between when my shift ended and when they would end their day.

Operation liberty hill, loving on people in williamson county!

It’s been a while since I lent my hands to work serving community in that fashion and it was humbling! WOW how God is moving! He is the multiplier of the “5 loaves and 2 fish”. I was amazed at how he has stretched the supplies at Operation Liberty Hill to serve so many families who are trying to make ends meet. They come in and get pantry items, toiletries, frozen meats, frozen meals, desserts, bread, fruit and veggies off a voucher system that the organization has set up in coordination with their thrift shop!

Thinking about how many men and women showed up humbly seeking assistance, the family they represented. I couldn’t help but think about how and what to pray about their futures. Here’s what came to my mind and spirit. I hope you will join me in praying for this organization of servants during the next 23 days!

Prayer Points:

  • That servants hands would not grow weary of doing good

  • That there will be people in those lines who would be serving the line from a place of abundance in the next year

  • That business partners from all over the county would donate space, time and platforms to increase supplies available at these shelters

  • That the children would not feel lack

  • That abundant joy would overcome the hands and hearts at Operation Liberty Hill to witness and proclaim the miracles of the Lords provision and grace.

There are so many beautiful hearts in our county.

Williamson County is a special place in Texas. We may live in a world where there are opportunities to dispute our neighbors everywhere we turn and opportunities to disregard and disrespect one another. But for two hours of my Tuesday, I was reminded that community is what makes us humans beautiful. Being part of a community that gives so much to ensuring that E V E R Y O N E has a meal, feels rich! We can be the hands and feet of the miracles someone is praying for.

Operation Liberty Hill will be receiving a portion of the donations from the on going food drive happening right now in Williamson County. If you can’t make it to a drop dox, I can pick your donation up from you. Thank you for donating and reading!

No pressure but I am now looking for a few people to volunteer with me next month. Sign up below.
